Duplex 2205 Stainless Steel Equal Angle is a high-strength, corrosion-resistant structural profile engineered for demanding industrial and marine environments. Featuring equal leg dimensions forming a precise 90-degree angle, this duplex stainless steel angle provides superior load distribution and structural reinforcement capability. Manufactured in compliance with ASTM A790 / A276 and related specifications, Duplex 2205 equal angle offers exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Available in both standard hot-rolled and laser fused configurations in 20'–22' standard random lengths (SRL), this material is ideal for structural fabrication, offshore platforms, marine construction, and heavy industrial frameworks.
Performance & Material Advantages
Duplex 2205 stainless steel equal angle delivers significantly higher strength than conventional austenitic grades such as 304 and 316, while maintaining superior corrosion resistance in chloride-rich and aggressive chemical environments. Its dual-phase microstructure (austenitic and ferritic) provides enhanced mechanical performance, improved fatigue resistance, and excellent dimensional stability. Laser fused equal angles offer tighter tolerances, improved surface finish, and consistent geometry for precision structural applications. This alloy is particularly suited for offshore, marine, oil and gas, and chemical processing systems requiring long-term durability and structural reliability.
Technical Specifications
Duplex 2205 (UNS S32205 / S31803) stainless steel equal angle contains approximately 21–23% chromium, 4.5–6.5% nickel, and 3–3.5% molybdenum, with added nitrogen to enhance strength and corrosion resistance. Produced to ASTM A790, ASTM A276, and related industry standards, Duplex 2205 provides excellent resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking and localized corrosion. Supplied in multiple leg sizes and thicknesses in 20'–22' standard random lengths (SRL).
