Angles

Angles

A stainless steel angle, hot rolled and laser fused, is a popular structural shape that can be utilized in various applications. It can be produced in multiple thickness levels and profiles.

With the use of laser fused technology, stainless structural comes in a wide range of options for customers. Whether you need an equal or unequal angle, Ace Stainless Supply can provide you with the ideal solution.

Classification of Stainless Steel Angle

A hot-rolled stainless steel angle can be offered in unequal and equal leg lengths. It is ideal for structural projects that require durability and strength due to its inside radius corner reinforcement.

 Equal Stainless Steel Angles Equal

Angle bars are generally characterized by having parallel legs and are certified according to ASTM A484 and ASTM A1069. The MTC (metal test certificate) is also indicated according to EN 10204, which is a standard for testing materials. A wide range of equal angle bars are available in the market.

Equal stainless steel corners are the most common, available in sizes ranging from 10x10x2 to 200x200x20mm. The large sizes are usually used for unique profiles, and the wider ones are seldom utilized.

A stainless steel angle known as the equal stainless angle is available in various sizes and certified for complete testing. It is excellent for multiple fabrications, such as brackets and frames.

Unequal Stainless Steel Angles

The unequal angle bars are a broad category of building elements that feature bar-shaped structures. They have parallel legs and are characterized by their tolerances. These are also defined by ASTM A484 and the laser fused execution standard. The MTC is 3.1 according to EN 10204, which is a material test certificate.

Even though the uneven steel angles of stainless steel are similar to those of carbon steel, they have different dimensions. For instance, the smaller one is about 20x10x3 millimeters, while the larger one is 200x150x15 millimeters.

The standard length of these corners is 6 meters. The stainless steel unequal angle is available in various grades, such as 304/304L AND 316/316L. This product also offers good corrosion resistance against acidic environments.

How To Choose the Best Stainless Steel Angle

When choosing the best steel grade for your finished product, consider the factors affecting its performance. For instance, corrosion and high temperatures can affect stainless steel's performance.

The most common stainless steel material grades are 304 and 316 austenitic. These two types of alloys maintain their hardness, strength, and corrosion-resistant properties over the temperature range.

One of the essential factors you should consider when choosing austenitic 304 fittings is their corrosion resistance. With the addition of molybdenum, Type 316 can effectively fight against chloride ions in marine and chemical processing applications.

 Grade 304

A 304 angle is a type of stainless steel with a slightly different composition of manganese and chromium, and it can be used in various structural applications. The austenitic structure of the material is perfect, and the nickel level ranges from 4% to 8%.

Cold-working techniques can change the non-magnetic characteristics of 304 stainless steel angles into magnetic ones. This occurs due to a type of structure called martensite. After being subjected to a bath of around 1900 Fahrenheit for about 30 minutes, the material will start to show mechanical properties.

Regarding strength and corrosion resistance in moderate to mild conditions, material grade 304 stainless steel angles are a good choice. These types of angles can be made in various shapes and sizes and can be weldable.

They can be made using multiple techniques, such as resistance or fusion welding. These materials have a total tensile strength of over 500 million pa, and their tensile strength is 275 million pa.

Grade 304/304L

304/304L is an angle-shaped stainless steel that is useful in various applications where cleanliness and sanitation are important. It has various mechanical properties and is resistant to atmospheric and environmental corrosion.

It is also very good at resisting intergranular corrosion. Due to its excellent resistance to corrosion, this material is ideal for use in areas where temperatures reach around -40 degrees Celsius.

Although it is non-magnetic in the form of 304 304L, it can become slightly magnetic due to welding or cold working. This material can be easily processed and welded by standard shop procedures.

Grade 316/316L

316L or 316/316 Angle is a type of stainless steel that is commonly sought after due to its standard Molybdenum-bearing properties. This is the second most common grade of stainless steel after 304.

Compared to other types of stainless steel, 316L has better resistance to corrosion in chloride environments. This is due to the high Molybdenum content. Compared to 316, 316L has an extra-low-carbon analysis, which makes it ideal for welding heavy sections. This makes it an integral part of most welded components. It does not allow for harmful precipitation in the 800 to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit range.
